For those who don't know what we're on about - we're living in Kolkata for a year helping out an organisation called Freeset (see www.freesetglobal.com for the story). They work with women coming out of forced prostitution in Sonagacchi, one of the largest red-light districts in India. The women are trained to sew jute bags and employed, giving them a genuine economic alternative to the sex industry, and providing a future free from it for them and their families.
It's pretty sweet.

Sarah walking down our lane to work.
This is looking from outside our place down the lane, towards Ramesh Dutta.
Our fruit and vege market, just 5 mins walk from our place

The end of our lane - apparently in monsoon time all the dogs sit on the table to the left of the photo.
